FATHER & SON
My wife and I spent about 2 hours talking to a teenager after dinner at our home. The issue was he (Christian) is having a cold war with his pre-believer dad.
He was fed up and this is his last straw as his dad threaten to throw him out of the house if he gambles again. The problem was that he started playing mahjong since CNY and it was fun at first and now becoming addictive. He played 4 times after CNY and the dad misunderstood that he plays everytime when he is back late in the night. He realised his mistake for falling into temptation to gambling and will repent. However he is still bitter over the dad's threat (more than 5 times since he was primary 2). We were surprised that he remembers the hurt and this proves that the wounds are still there and we pray for healing.
We were glad that he accepted the fact that if the cold war persist, who will win the battle? He might win the war, but he lost the battle (last Sunday's message). The one will laugh all the way to the bank is the devil.
We closed in prayer with he asking God for opportunity to reconcile with the father. We are praying God will use this negative event to bring the dad to the kingdom of God. Please pray with us.

Did the teenager choose to forgive his dad? In order to have a breakthrough, he must face the wounded past, and need to forgive his dad for specific events/incidents which brought hurt to him. I think he also need to repent for picking up mahjong as this 'game' has a root in divination.
